chapter 7
The Hart Park drowning photo. John Harte said," The story that I ordered by the officer in charge, the Lt. Carl Sparks not to take the photo is true. The final one is the father, told The Californian that he had seen the photo but he was so grief stricken by the death of his son he couldn't care about a picture". John Harte said,"the picture became one of the most controversial of the decade in 1985". John got an invitation to go to the University of South Florida in St.Petersburg to speak with other fellow photojournalist. John said he was 27 years old and working on a Sunday afternoon and had taken photos he had taken before.John said the aftermath of the picture's publication would also contribute mighty to my career disdain for newspaper publishers and executives,
The Ethics of Photojournalism has to come from from the photojournalist taking the photo. Are you taking this picture to exploit the subjects that are in the photo or are you really looking to extend a message for the good of your fellow readers journalism in general. The problem with John Harte and this photo is that family was all around having a serious moment of grief. They had just lost a nephew , son brother and the last thing on the family mind was a photo being taken in their time of despair Photojournalist must sometimes put themselves in these subject place. This particular image was of this little boy already in a body bag. Think about would you want your deceased child's picture on front every newspaper with the image taken of him in a body bag. John Harte was doing his regular Sunday photos when happen to come across Hart Park.
"These next two images represent how the code of in journalism was not used in either of the images. This is exploding the situation of the handicap and how they are seen in different images. Ethical Photography, Where do we go from here? We're seeing a lot commentary triggered by Souvid Datta episode, where he is accused of both photographing unethically and passing off collaged and plagiarized material as his own."

Code of Ethics-Sleenhof. This image of a young Tibetan activist in New Delhi exposes the disregard for the code of ethics that photojournalist are encouraged to follow. Several journalists are snapping away, attempting to photograph the best image while the protestor runs through the street on fire. "The photojournalist in this image are not treating their subject with respect or dignity, and they are not showing any compassion towards the victim of this tragedy. Instead they are allowing him to burn. "The second rule of "Code of Ethics" , this rule says that photojournalist should treat all subject with respect and dignity, give special consideration to vulnerable subjects and compassion towards the victims of tragedy When interrelating what some my ethics are like strength and courage it seems that some journalist cannot relate to these words. I know in the world that we live in this can be somewhat difficult, but as photojournalist it is important that you hold a standard different then the rest of us because you must be sensitive to the photos that you take on a daily basis.

These are what I consider my core values for my standard of living.I do understand that being a photojournalist that you come under fire for doing too little or not doing enough. Still being a photojournalist is as much about the image as it is being about the subjects that are in the image. Courage is something we all need to be brave in a given situation. Faith I put in the middle because when all else fails faith give you the power to carry on. Family values comes with respecting my parents and other family members whether young or old always cheering them on no matter what having the love necessary to be part of a family core.Strength for myself and the people I care about help in time of need and despair. Morals is something we all must have to do the right thing for our fellow human and be mindful just because everyone is doing doesn't mean that it's okay. Living up to these ethics give me the will power to stay focus within the life I live.
