Principles used was Background compliments or detracts from composition.
This photo competes with itself because President should not be the in the center. This all about going into space not about him. The background is not out of focus but the foreground is to focus for the image.
My feeling of this photo was suppose to indicate something new and amazing coming to the near future. How exciting for all America to witness. The President of the United States being involved with space.
That background of the picture indicated something shinny and new but it is a very sterile look at space program. Also the president is holding a part that may or may not go on the space equipment.
I choose this image because it does let us know there is future and space plus a new discovery that the U.S. did not know much about. There is more out there than just stars. The sky is really the limit.
